Graduate study in the Applied Behavior Analysis certificate program is designed to assist students to meet the coursework and partial supervised experience requirements to be eligible to sit for the Board exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). BCBAs typically work with individuals with various developmental disabilities, behavioral disorders, and other disabilities in various settings including public and private special education schools, clinics, hospitals, and residential treatment facilities.
The 24-credit Post-Master's intensive curriculum provides students with a balanced training within academics, scholarship, and clinical experience allowing them to be prepared to become practitioners and researchers in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. Upon completion of coursework, graduates must complete additional supervised experience hours, independently, in order to qualify to sit for the BACB certification examination.
Accreditation
The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program options are all designed to lead graduates towards Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA®) as per the most current Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements. This includes completion of academic coursework, earning of 1500-2000 supervised experience hours (completed independent of the degree program), and passing of the BCBA® certification examination (independent of the degree program). Once certified, New Jersey licensure as a behavior analyst can be obtained. Students are to reference state- and/or region-specific licensure requirements to practice legally. Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants are required to submit the following materials:
- Online application and application fee
- Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended, including receipt of a Master's-level degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Personal statement outlining goals and professional interests
- Letters of recommendation (2) from academic and/or professional references
- Resume/Curriculum vitae
- Writing sample: a research-based paper in psychology or education of at least ten (10) pages that was previously completed as part of a graduate course. Other subject matter may be considered if the applicant has limited prior psychology or education experience. If applicable, the applicant's master's thesis (or equivalent) is preferable.

The program reviews applications on a rolling basis and typically accepts applicants throughout the year.
