From the President

Dear Students,

This catalogue holds the building blocks of a successful academic experience. Each class will advance your intellect, strengthen your understanding of the world, and help you discern how God is calling you to contribute to society. Together, these courses constitute the University’s unique approach to the Catholic intellectual tradition.

This tradition has been honed by faith and strengthened by cultures from around the globe. It is the lens through which you will engage with all there is to discover and learn. Because electives are just as influential as classes in your chosen programs of study, I hope you will see each course as component parts of a unified whole.

We are taught by our patroness, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, that setbacks are part of every life. She likewise shows us that when these moments occur, we can rely on hope and faith to chart a resilient course forward. In this spirit, our caring Catholic community will do all we can to uplift you and keep you on track.

Seton Hall has been a place of hope for nearly 170 years. My hope and prayer are that this year brings new knowledge, rewarding experiences, and a deeper understanding of God’s abundant love for you.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.

Yours truly in the Lord,

Rev. Msgr. Joseph Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D.
President
