Diplomacy has been a natural destination for students interested in law, or in preparing themselves for law school; we have had a JD/MA with Seton Hall Law for many years, we were the first program on campus to launch a 3+3 BS/JD with Law, and we are the only program that offers a BS/MLS (Masters in Legal Studies) alternative to the 3+3.
Our BS in Law and Diplomacy allocates 120 credits as follows:
- Conventional Diplomacy Core (English, Core I-III, Math, Econ, Religion): 28 credits.
- Traditional Diplomacy Foreign Language Requirement (four years): 24 credits.
- Diplomacy major: reduced from 45 to 30 credits, all of which draw on existing courses.
- Law Courses: 15 credits of foundational courses and 15 credits of applied law classes based on tracks in Business and Finance, Technology and Privacy, Health and Human Services, and Sports, Gaming, and Entertainment offered by the Law School.
- Law Perspectives Courses: 6 credits of menu classes from Diplomacy, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and Seton Hall Law.
This program is a joint undergraduate only program. It is not a double major. It couples the close personal attention available in Diplomacy with an attractive set of skills developed in new courses outside of Diplomacy.
