The Ed.D. in PreK-12 Education Leadership, Management and Policy is designed for aspiring and working professionals with leadership experience, prepares scholarly practitioners to improve education for diverse students and stakeholders. The program develops equity- and justice-based leaders to plan and enact meaningful change across settings.
Faculty emphasize the intersections of theory, policy, and practice and encourage students to apply learning across contexts to solve complex educational issues. Seton Hall, as a Catholic, research-focused institution, has a long standing reputation for creating transformative leaders. Graduates have pursued careers as school, district, community, and state leaders.

Application Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants are required to submit the following materials:
- Online application and application fee
- Resume/Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement (up to 550 words, about two pages)
- Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended, including an earned Master's-level degree (cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 for last degree)
- Letters of recommendation (3) from academic and/or professional references
International applicants are welcome. Please review the College's frequently asked admissions questions for supplemental requirements.
Application and Enrollment Dates
The program operates on a rolling admissions schedule where students may begin their studies in either the Fall (full-time matriculation) or Spring (part-time matriculation) semester.
Curriculum Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 51 credit hours, as listed below.
Qualifying/Comprehensive Exam
Some programs require doctoral students to take a qualifying and/or comprehensive written examination to test their command of integrated knowledge in their field upon completion of all or most of the required coursework. Please consult with the program director for additional information regarding qualifying and/or comprehensive exams.
Dissertation Proposal
Students must have a documented, successful defense of their dissertation proposal, signed and dated by dissertation committee members. A successful proposal defense is a required intermediate stage of the dissertation process. Details are in the department dissertation handbook.
Dissertation
Students must complete a dissertation and successfully defend their work with their dissertation committee. Details are in the department dissertation handbook.

Requirements for the program are outlined in the "Requirements" tab of this Catalogue. This Planner tab offers a sample semester-by-semester model schedule which accounts for historical course availability. For timely completion of the program, students must routinely meet with their assigned academic advisor to carefully plan their schedule based on available courses.
