The M.A.E. in Elementary Teaching offers candidates the opportunity to earn New Jersey teacher certification as a K-6 elementary teacher. The program is delivered through the combination of online, hybrid, and weekend offerings to address the needs of career changers. Clinical experiences are required including one semester of full-time internship (five days a week). Designed for those committed to entering the profession of education through a rigorous program, in a format that works for adult learners, the timeframe is approximately one year from beginning to graduation.

Application Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants are required to submit the following materials:
- Online application and application fee
- Resume/Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement (up to 550 words, about two pages)
- Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended, reflective of an undergraduate bachelor's-level cumulative grade point average of 3.0 GPA and inclusive of at least 60 credits in Liberal Arts
- Letters of recommendation (2) from academic and/or professional references
- Official score report indicating passing score on the Praxis II exam. This is required as this program includes a clinical practice requirement leading to a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.
