The Italian language program exposes students to the rich history and culture of Italy and provides students with outstanding preparation for graduate school, or a career in international business, diplomacy, teaching, social work and the law. Our first- and second-year Italian courses strengthen students’ language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) through interactive classes. At the third-year level, you’ll study aspects of culture (film, music, patterns of civilization, and even pop culture). Literature courses immerse students still deeper in both the art of the Italian language and the richness of Italy’s culture and history. A summer study abroad program will take you to Rome for a four-week intensive and full-immersion experience.
Students are required to take an online placement test through the Global Learning Center in order to register for classes in any language(s) that they have previously studied.
