B.S.E. Core Curriculum Overview

The CHDCM's B.S.E Core Curriculum is comprised of the following categories:

  • University Core
  • B.S.E. Elementary Core or B.S.E. Secondary Core
  • Professional Sequence
  • Clinical Experiences
  • Second Major/Content Requirement (reference Important Notes below)

Important Notes for All Students

  • Elementary - students must either declare: (1) a second major from the liberal arts; or (2) through advisement a designated minimum of 30 credits in core-content subject areas.  When combined with the B.S.E. Elementary Core, the program meets the minimum 60 credit hours in the liberal arts and/or science as required by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJAC 6A:9B-10.2).
  • Secondary - students must declare a certification field that is completed as a secondary academic major.  The B.S.E. in Secondary Education section of this Catalogue outlines applicable options.
