OUR MISSION

We’re a home where all people are welcome. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what you study, or what you believe - whether you’re already deeply engaged in a faith tradition or are exploring new ideas and questions - we’re all on the same journey of faith, and we’re here to walk that journey with you throughout your time at Seton Hall.

With us, you’ll find a supportive community where you’ll engage your inner spirituality, delve into the Christian faith, build new friendships and strengthen old ones, and dedicate your time to serving those most in need on-campus and abroad.

Through events, programs, and initiatives that encourage faith-filled personal growth and commitment to loving and serving others, we will provide you with the tools and support you need to create a world of true peace and justice for all God’s people.

We offer you a warm welcome, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart. Together, let’s see what great minds can do and who great people can be!

~ Forming Great Minds through Worship, Discipleship, Community, and Service ~

WORSHIP

God loves us – loves YOU – no matter what. No matter our mistakes, no matter our shortcomings, no matter how many times we fall down and promise we’ll do better, we believe that God created us out of love and nothing could ever take that love away. Nothing. That’s the message of Jesus Christ.

Through our worship at Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Confessions, and other special moments during the week, we come together in prayer to celebrate God’s forgiveness, God’s mercy, God’s compassion, and most of all, God’s absolute love for each and every one of us. With fellow Pirates by your side, join us in that celebration together. All really are welcome here…come just as you are.

Share Your Gifts!
Share your time and talent as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server, or member of our choir at Sunday Mass. We’re always looking for an extra hand!

DISCIPLESHIP

Life’s a journey and for us Pirates, it’s also an adventure. And just like any adventure, there are going to be ups and downs and everything in between. We know college is a fun time to grow and to learn, but we know that it can be a little scary and a little stressful at times, too. That’s why we’re here to make sure that whatever you face on your journey, you have the tools you need to keep on “hazard zet forward-ing” through it all, one day at a time.

At Campus Ministry, we won’t just help you ask the big questions, we’ll help you live the answers every day. Come see how the timeless message of Jesus Christ can transform your whole world around you and help you be the person you want to be. God’s got something great in store for you at SHU…let’s help you discover what that is.

On the Journey Together.

To help you along on your journey at Seton Hall, we have a dozen young adult “missionaries” (FOCUS & SPO) and a team of religious Brothers and Sisters (CSJ) living and working on campus. They are here to help you discover how your faith has real meaning for every aspect of your life: studies, social life, dating, and major life decisions. They will help you ignite the fire of your faith through one-on-one conversation, small-group encounters, Bible studies, lectures, social gatherings, retreats, meals, hikes, and many more events throughout the year. They’re eager to connect with you!

Give Yourself a Break!

Jesus took a break and got away once in a while…you should, too. Throughout the year, we organize different retreat opportunities for you to get away, take a break, have some fun, and explore what God is trying to saying to you. It might just change your life! Keep an eye out for more details.

Thinking of Becoming a Catholic? Take the Leap. Learn More.

If you’re interested in becoming a Catholic or you’re already a Catholic, but haven’t yet received Communion or Confirmation, then you’re in the right place. We’ll help you grow in your relationship with Jesus, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, orient yourself toward a life of service to others, and prepare you to receive the sacraments. Reach out to any of us for more information.

COMMUNITY

Jesus had a lot of friends. They laughed, they cried, they had each other’s backs. College is a time for making new friends, meeting new people, living new memories…a time for laughter and even sometimes, tears. Jesus never went it alone, and neither should we, neither should you. Whether you’re from across the street or across the country, Campus Ministry’s here to have your back.

Every Thursday Night at 8pm is “Campus Ministry Night!” With something different each week, we offer a great evening of fun and friendship. With everything from movie nights and games to talks and discussion groups, we want you to feel right at home. Come with a buddy, grab a snack, have a laugh, and take a break from your week!

Some of our major events during the year include: Move-In Day Pizza Parties, Year-Opening Barbecue, Capture the Flag Tournament, Annual Talent Show, Trivia Night, Christmas & Halloween Parties, End of the Year Formal, and much more.

SERVICE (DOVE)

What’s in a name? Everything! DOVE stands for the Division of Volunteer Efforts, one of the best parts of our university community. Through DOVE, we respond to the ongoing call for social justice by – literally and figuratively – “getting our hands dirty” to serve people most in need. Stemming from our desire to affirm the dignity of every human person and to live as Christ taught us by putting our faith into action, DOVE is committed to forming compassionate individuals rooted in and guided by faith.

Through different events and programs all year, you’ll have many opportunities to roll your sleeves up and help serve people in need, both on-campus and abroad. Regardless of your service background or faith, there’s something for everyone to get involved in – and we’ll help you help others every step of the way.

Some of our biggest projects include: Make1Take1, St. John’s Soup Kitchen, Christmas Toy Drive, Seton Stories, Don Bosco Youth Center, Service on Saturdays
