From the President

Dear Students,

This catalogue is the road map to a successful academic experience at Seton Hall.

Each course will advance your knowledge of the world and encourage further understanding of your place in it. Taken as a whole, these pages represent the University’s insight into the Catholic Intellectual Tradition — a centuries-old educational approach strengthened by cultures from around the globe.

A Seton Hall education seeks to instill more than qualitative and quantitative knowledge; it is grounded in the Catholic values of our patroness, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Just as Mother Seton placed faith and hope at the center of her work, we are committed to inculcating those same values in our University.

Mother Seton taught us that while setbacks occur in every life, faith in God and a nurturing community can help chart a resilient course forward. In this spirit, our caring Catholic community will do all we can to uplift you and keep you on track.

Seton Hall has been a place of hope for nearly 170 years. My hope and prayer are that this year brings new knowledge, rewarding experiences, and a deeper understanding of God’s abundant love for you.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.

Yours truly in the Lord,

Monsignor Joseph Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D.
President

Msgr. Joseph R. Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D.
