The department offers secondary majors in French, Italian, or Spanish. Students in each of the secondary majors are required to complete 36 credits in courses above the Elementary level. The major requirements for a secondary major are the same as those for a primary major.
Students are required to take an online placement test through the Global Learning Center in order to register for classes in any language(s) that they have previously studied.

The sequence of courses for a secondary major is the same as for a primary major, and can be found in the catalogue pages corresponding to the French, Italian, and Spanish BA majors.
